Using crutches after a hip replacement operation at Hamilton’s Braemar Hospital some months ago almost drove builder Graham Campion to distraction.
“Not so much when they were in use,” he said. “But I’d lean them somewhere when I sat down and you could guarantee that when I went to grab them again one, or both, would slide away onto the floor.
“While I was in Braemar hospital I’d have to ring the bell for the nurse every time. So I probably drove them mad as well. “They didn’t fall over just once, or twice, it happened in the shower, getting out of bed, sitting in the lounge, having a meal at the kitchen table…all the time,” said good-natured builder Graham
