You will receive separate accounts from:

  • Braemar Hospital
  • Your surgeon
  • Your anaesthetist, where applicable
  • Other services, where applicable

 

INSURED PATIENTS

We recommend that you obtain prior approval from your health insurance company before arriving at a Braemar hospital. This enables the insurance company to pay their share of the account rather than you paying first and having to claim a refund later. If your insurance company makes only a part payment towards the cost of your operation then you are responsible for making payment of the balance. If your insurance company fails to make payment for any reason then you are still responsible for making the payment in full.

 

UNINSURED PATIENTS

You are responsible for making payment in full within 7 days of the date of invoice.

 

ACC PATIENTS

ACC may not meet the full cost of your operation and stay at Braemar Hospital. For example ACC does not cover the cost of extra meals or phone calls. You will be expected to pay any additional costs either on discharge or within 7 days of the date of invoice.

 

OVERDUE ACCOUNTS

If the invoice is not paid in full within 30 days from date of invoice you may be charged interest calculated on the unpaid amount at 1% per month until the invoice is paid in full. Where a debt collection agency has to be used the fees charged by that agency will be added to the total amount invoiced by Braemar Hospital.
